Instructions with Vice 24w LED Lamp

Standard Instructions from Home Gel Polish Manicure from Vice. In general it's difficult to overcure the product but easy to undercure. (Especially if you're not using a lamp bought from Vice). If in doubt go longer on the Cure time. Some people prefer to read the instructions, other's watch! There's a youtube video below and our nail tech top tips!

1. Prepare the nail well.
2. Apply a thin layer of Vice Base Coat and then cure for 2mins (2x 60 sec cycles). Make sure that you cover the entire nail and make sure you go over the exposed edge.
3. Apply a thin layer of Vice Gel Colour to your nail. Make sure to go over the exposed edge of the nail again (everytime, with every coat). Then cure for 60 Seconds in your Vice LED lamp.
4. Repeat step 3 until you have the desired coverage. Some colours will require more coats than others.
5. Apply a thin layer of Vice 'Non-Wipe' Topcoat. Again, make sure you are capping the free edge. Then cure. 120 seconds (2x 60 Seconds cycles) in your Vice LED lamp.
6. You're done! With the Vice Non-Wipe Top Coat there is no need to remove any sticky final layer.

Nail Tech Tips

We've had a lot of experiencing dealing with customer new and experienced on the application of Gel Nail Polish. We think these handy tips from our resident nail tech might come in handy.

  • Make sure that you cure for the right amount of time and in the right power lamp. If in doubt then cure longer than the recommended time. It's very difficult to over-cure this product. (From experience, USB powered lamps normally lack the power to do the job properly, be careful when using them).
  • Make sure you apply thin layers of colour, multiple times, rather than one thick layer. If a layer is too thick - the UV light can't penetrate it and cure it all the way through. (Meaning that the bottom isn't cured and you get movement, lifting or wrinkles).
  • Always cap the free edge. Both on the Base, colours and top coat. It's the bit that's most likely to cause a problem (with lifting) if you don't.
  • Our Gel Polish does tend to be thicker than competitor products. It's part of why it lasts so well. Don't worry if it looks thick out of the bottle. Shake it, and give it a try - it settles wonderfully and gives an amazing finish.
  • Make sure you use Vice Nails Top and Base. We can't warranty the performance of our product with another brands products, and there are many sub standard versions out there.

Professional Instructions

For a professional grade application of Vice products we do recommend the use of Primer and PH Bond. These two products both help with adhesion and stabilise the PH of the nail bed, ensuring optimal lasting for your clients. Do you need to use it? We do recommend it, but we also know that the vast majority of customers don't use it. And have no problems. We normally recommend that anyone offering Gel Manicures for money should use Primer and Bond, but for home users - it's their choice.

1. Prep all of the nails by pushing back and removing the cuticle. (This step is very important - the most common cause of lifting is cuticle left on the nails.) Gently remove it and brush off dust.
2. Apply one layer of PH bond, no need cure, give it 30 seconds to settle.
3. Apply one layer of Vice primer, no need to cure. Again give it a little time. Say 30 seconds.
4. Then follow from step 2 from the standard Vice Gel Nail Polish instructions above.
